Getting Started with Treatment
What do I have to do before being admitted?
Verify your insurance and do a quick screening with our admissions team to determine which program best fits your needs. Once insurance is verified, we’ll discuss payment and send you documents to sign and helpful resources for your treatment.
How soon am I able to be admitted?
Most people can be admitted within 24 to 48 hours after their initial call, depending on insurance approval.
What do I need to bring with me to rehab?
For your inpatient rehab stay, we’ll provide you with a full packing list. This will include comfortable clothing, essential toiletries, and any current prescription medications in original packaging.
What can I expect when I start addiction treatment?
You’ll receive a customized treatment plan tailored to your needs. This may include detox, group and individual therapy, 12-step meetings, time for physical activity, and regular sessions with a counselor. Our facilities are clean, modern, and designed for your comfort.
How do I know if I’m a candidate for drug rehab or alcohol rehab?
All patients receive a professional assessment before admission to help determine if our program is the right fit. If you’re struggling to stop using drugs or alcohol, it’s worth exploring treatment.
What if I have a spouse or significant other who needs treatment at the same time as me?
To maintain focus and avoid complications, spouses or significant others are not permitted to attend treatment at the same time in our facility.
Program Structure & Staffing
How long should I expect to stay at Northpoint Recovery for inpatient treatment?
After identifying which of our programs is best for your recovery journey, our team will work with you to assess a program length that sets you up for long-term success.
If you are admitting to one of our inpatient facilities, you’ll want to communicate any upcoming events that may prevent you from being fully dedicated to the program length our medical team suggests.
Is Northpoint Recovery a locked inpatient facility?
We lock our doors at night for safety, but Northpoint is not a locked facility—you are free to leave if you choose to.
Is Northpoint Recovery a gender specific treatment facility?
No, but we offer gender-specific programs to address the unique recovery needs of men and women.
How many counselors are employed at Northpoint Recovery?
We employ licensed professionals including LPC, LMSW, LCPC, LCSW, and CADC/ACADC counselors.
Will I be seeing a doctor as a part of my treatment at Northpoint Recovery?
Yes. You’ll be evaluated by a physician upon admission to make sure any medical needs are addressed right away.
Counseling & Support
How often will I talk with my counselor? Will he or she be available more often if necessary?
You’ll have weekly structured counseling sessions, with additional team access as needed.
When are your visiting hours? Can I talk with my friends and family during my inpatient stay?
Visits are held on Sundays for family and friends. You’ll also have scheduled family sessions on-site or by phone.
Am I allowed to leave Northpoint Recovery anytime I want to?
Yes. While we hope you’ll stay to complete your program, participation is voluntary and you may leave at any time.
Detox & Inpatient Treatment
How long does detox take?
Most people spend 5–7 days in detox, but the exact timeline depends on what substances were used, how long they were used, and any other health needs.
What is medical detox like?
You’ll be in a safe, supportive setting with medical staff available 24/7 to help manage withdrawal symptoms and keep you as comfortable as possible. Most people stay for a few days before moving into treatment.
Does Northpoint Recovery offer detox services as a standalone treatment?
Yes, we offer standalone detox for a minimum of seven days. That said, we encourage pairing detox with a full treatment plan for the best outcomes.
What are the options for physical activity?
You’ll have regular opportunities for exercise and group activities to support both your mental and physical health, including yoga and aerobic exercises.
Are pets allowed to visit during any of the visitation times?
We love pets, but we don’t allow pet visitation during inpatient treatment.
